Of Course I Talk To Myself, Sometimes I Need Expert Advice
Rather than simply give you my advice, and to have a little fun, I asked some of the marketing experts I know to share their thoughts on the most common branding counsel they gave communities in 2014. My original plan was simply to share it as a blog post. But, I was overwhelmed with both the number of experts who responded and the quality of their advice that I decided to publish it as an eBook instead.
I think the wisdom in this eBook is exceptional, and of course it is FREE. I have hot linked each contributor’s name to their respective Organization’s website and, in consideration for them taking time to share their wisdom, I encourage you to click on those links to learn more about them. These are some of the people I genuinely admire in the field of community (or place) branding and would recommend be on any RFP for consultation.
You may also find this eBook to be helpful in better explaining community branding to your Board of Directors and/or elected officials. It really is a remarkable compilation of information. You will find a good deal of consistency in the advice shared, but you will also find discrepancies that suggest the experts are not totally aligned in their approach. As one expert wrote “It isn’t surprising our clients are confused when we can’t even agree among ourselves.”
Hopefully you will also find the collective wisdom inspirational. This eBook is a good read whether you already have a community branding initiative in place or are looking to initiate one.
