How To Find A Job You Love And Live The American Dream
Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.
Quote attributed to: Teddy Roosevelt
Every so often somebody reaches out to me with information relevant to helping better understand the American Dream. recently, Adam Maidment (NeoMam Studios) shared an infographic prepared for Adecco, a firm that focuses on providing HR solutions for companies. Adecco Management believes that finding the “right” job can accelerate achievement of your American Dream. This is a premise I tend to agree with.
Thanks to Adam, I can share an infographic summarizing how meaningful work influences achieving your American Dream. I encourage you to take a look at it and to visit the Adecco website to learn even more. The “Tools & Resources” tab provides some very thoughtful perspective that can help you decide if you are in the “right” job to achieve your American Dream.
Note, Adecco used the results of a 2015 Vanity Fair poll to describe the American Dream. I have looked at the data and believe it is consistent with the Xavier University ADCI research (although not as complete). Consequently, in general the conclusions from the Vanity Fair poll will be directionally similar to the ADCI research results. In particular, the conclusion:
“Finally, for all the griping, we lean toward the view that the American Dream is more robust right now than at any time in the past.”
… reached by the author(s) of the Vanity Fair article is very consistent with the ADCI study results.
The questions I will leave you with are:
- Are you in the “right” job to most easily achieve your American Dream?
- Are you living in the right location to achieve your American Dream? (check out my 2015 State Ranking Report)
